Default A PvP All chapters skill and item unlock and access pack in the NCsoft Store.

Dear NCsoft and ArenaNET,

For a while now I have wanted to make a new account that is ready for PvP use, which I can use as my PvP smurf, so I don't have to leave my current guild for playing GvG's, and so I don't have to spend countless faction on unlocking skills.

In various formats, you already offer packages like these in the NCsoft store:

- You offer the complete trilogy, which contains access to all formats of PvP, and all skills and item unlocks. However, this package means you have to unlock everything first, like a normal account. It also gives access to the PvE areas which I don't need.

- You offer the PvP access kit, which gives you access to specifically the PvP areas of the game. However, this kit only has core skills available for unlocking, and gives no access at all to skills from the various campaigns and the EotN expansion.

- You offer skill unlock packs for the core skills, as well as for all the campaings individually, and also an item unlock pack. However, these packs are all individual upgrades and still require the PvP access kit.

This would mean that in order for me to buy and create an alt account that is suitable for PvP I'd have to either:

- Buy the trilogy and spend countless hours on unlocking all the various skills from scratch, which costs 35 Euros, and gives me access to all the PvE areas which I don't need on this account at all.
- Buy the PvP access kit, and all the skill unlock packs and the item unlock pack. This would cost me a whooping 63 Euros.

Thus, I am suggesting that you offer some kind of Full PvP Access kit, with:
-Access to only the PvP section of the game (Battle Isles, JQ/FA, and AB)
-All skill and item unlock packs applied with all skills and items unlocked.

This would save me a tremendous amount of hassle, and I would easily spend between 20 and 35 Euros on it. 25-30 Euros seems like a fair price.

Regards,

Meridon

They will not neccesarily lose money if they set the price right. Right now, if I'd create an alt account for PvP, I'd probably be buying the trilogy (which I won't, cause it's just way too much of a hassle to unlock everything from scratch and I just want to jump into it). Trilogies are sold for 35 Euros.

If they make te Full PvP Access kit the exact same price, they will not lose any money, as I will be paying the exact same price. More importantly, if they release a Full PvP Access kit for 35 Euros, I probably will buy it, which I wouldn't have done with the trilogy. So in the end, they would actually gain money instead of losing it. They would probably even still gain money if they set a lower price, because of the added revenue from it.

I think it is a good idea. They have platinium edition for a whole game and platinium skill unlock pack seems to be reasonable addition at this moment. Should not be hard to implement I think.

Basically I'm hearing that you want it to be cheaper or you want a bundle of the PvP Access Kit with the Skill and Item pack, because what you said already is what the PvP access kit is. From wiki:

The PvP Access Kit is a standalone product that can either be used to create a new account or added to an existing account. It grants access to all the professions, skills (except PvE-only skills), upgrades, and heroes in the game, but only in PvP areas.

If what you and the wiki are saying is true, then the NCSoft store description is very vague.

Quote:
Gain instant access to the Player versus Player portion of Guild Wars® with the new PvP Access Kit. This package contains everything you need to jump right into the competitive world of Guild Wars® PvP! No other Guild Wars® purchase necessary.

Create and play PvP-Only characters from any of ten Guild Wars® professions across all three campaigns (Note: Access to Roleplaying characters requires purchase of a Guild Wars® campaign.)

The PvP Access Kit also includes 60 free unlocks (20 elite skills, 20 normal skills and 20 items) to help you power up your game instantly. Mix and match with Skill and Item Unlock Packs to further enhance your PvP characters. (Note: The Skill and Unlock Packs can be purchased from the Guild Wars® in game store.)
Only the line where it says that it allows you to play any of ten Guild Wars professions across all three campaigns indicates that everything is available for unlock. Can someone who has bought the PvP access kit actually confirm this?

Either way, it's still not 100% what I'm looking for, I'd like to see a PvP pack with all skills unlocked already.

I don't' have it but know it's true. It's made for people who only play PvP and don't want to buy the "full" games. And what would PvP be without an option to unlock EVERYTHING? Yes it sounds slightly twerked though. What they mean is that you get 60 freebies but after that if you want stuff you have to spend faction for them. Skill unlock packs are a shortcut.

PvP with all skills unlocked is the equivalent of buying the PvP access kit and then every skill unlock pack. Nope, it's not gonna be cheap, but a bundle would be probably cheaper. And they should really just offer a la carte skill buying then these stupid packs IMO.

If you need further proof check out the wiki page for Unlock... it makes no reference to PvP accounts not being able to unlock skills.

Oh, and this: Every skill that is useable in PvP becomes available to unlock.

You can also also NOT get the unlocks packs, and unlock stuff with Balthazar points, like everyone has been doing since ages ago.

With the unlock packs you pay for speed, not for access. You get the access wither with the PvP pack or the campaigns.

Given the falling price of the campaigns, I agree that they ought to bundle all unlocks and the PvP access kit together into one $20-30 package.

Unlocking is bullcrap and I can't believe anyone wants to defend it.

So what should I be doing then? Zkeys? Yes, because those are so useful. I don't need any more gold. It's also good to have a goal to work towards besides a silly title (and having PvE items as a possible items from a PvP thing isn't connected either).

My main reasons for suggesting a pack that has everything unlocked don't include easy zkeys. If I'd want those, I'd just buy a single pve campaign, make a new account, and fill in XTH predictions every month.

I am suggesting a PvP access kit with every skill unlocked so I can create a new smurf account that is instantly ready for all types of PvP, on which I don't need to spend countless hours of faction grinding to get the skills I need. This way I can just head straight to joining my friend's GvG guild, which I can't right now with my main as it's the Guild Leader of the PvE guild I'm in, which I founded with a group of close friends and can't possibly leave.

Besides, I'm a Business Economics student, I understand that in-game currency is worthless, which is why I'm not bothered with zkeys. However, my time is precious.

--Edit: For anyone who still thinks my suggestion about every skill unlocked was just for easy zkeys, please realise that I have every skill unlocked on my main account already and thus I can get zkeys just as quick and easy there as I would be able to on a smurf with everything unlocked from the start. I wouldn't be wasting my time suggesting stuff like this if my goal was to grind zkeys.

Makes sense, you're buying less game than the trilogy.
